Patrick Moody selected to become Director of Athletics for the WOCSD

Earlier this summer Wells-Ogunquit CSD Superintendent James Daly approved a committee’s unanimous recommendation for Patrick Moody to serve as the District’s next Director of Athletics for grades 6-12. The interview committee of nine representatives consisted of members of the WOCSD administration, coaching staff, teachers, parents, and students.

“I am excited,” said Moody of his new position. “Excited to be here and to get going.” Moody is from Wells and is a 1983 graduate of Wells High School where he played varsity basketball. For seven years ending in 2018, he was a volunteer with the WHS Girls Basketball program.

Moody has served in public education for thirty years as a high school mathematics teacher. He taught at Gorham High School for five years and next at Kennebunk High School for 25 years. Additionally, he has served on several committees throughout his years in education including the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Accreditation, scholarship and book award committees, and other school support committees. Moody has been the recipient of the Amos McCallum Award and the Spencer Trask Award. These recognitions honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to athletics and who demonstrate a strong dedication to education.

Throughout his career in education, Moody has demonstrated a commitment to student-athletes in the communities that he has served in. He has an array of coaching experience in various athletic programs that span middle school to the college level. He holds a strong belief in the importance of building relationships with all facets of the school community and is a welcomed addition to the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District.
