Naffah is the recipient of the Maine Principals’ Association Award at WHS

Wells High School Principal Eileen Sheehy announced recently that senior Zachary Naffah has been selected to receive this school year’s Maine Principals’ Association Award. This award is sponsored by the Maine Principals Association (MPA) and is awarded in recognition of a student’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Zachary is an excellent leader by example in our school community,” commented Principal Sheehy. “He is academically focused, challenging himself with a rigorous course load. He is a dedicated athlete (and) always willing to lend a helping hand.” Sheehy added, “He exemplifies an outstanding school citizen.”

At WHS Naffah is a member of the National Honor Society, a three-season athlete, and has received many school awards including Student of the Trimester, Breakfast of Champions, and Faculty Book Awards. In addition to receiving the MPA Award, Naffah will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Wells High School.

The Maine Principals’ Association Award was established in 1984 to recognize academic excellence and good citizenship. Annually, 100 public and private high school principals that are members of this non-profit corporation are encouraged to select one outstanding senior from their school for this recognition. The MPA, is a professional association of Maine’s school administrators and is divided into two divisions: the Division of Professional Activities and the Division of Interscholastic Activities.
