Wells High School Principal Eileen Sheehy has announced that senior Mackenzie Foss has been selected to receive the Maine Principals Association’s Principal’s Award for 2019. This award is given in recognition of a high school senior’s excellence in academic achievement and good citizenship. Annually, Maine high schools belonging to the MPA select one outstanding senior for this recognition.

According to Principal Sheehy, Foss has maintained high honor roll status throughout high school and received numerous academic awards from faculty in all areas of study. Foss contributes to her school in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and in the community. As a result of being a key member on the Student Council and in the Interact club, Foss has been at the forefront of numerous volunteer events. She has distinguished herself as the type of student who values every opportunity to learn. In addition, she is a member of WHS’s soccer, basketball and softball teams.

“As a recipient of this award, Mackenzie is among a select group of very talented, dedicated and motivated students from WHS. She is an outstanding example of scholarship and leadership,” commented Sheehy and Assistant Principal Josh Gould.
