Effective July 28, 2016, Mr. Roland “AJ” Dufort becomes the new assistant principal of Wells Junior High School. This according to WOCSD Superintendent James Daly who approved an interview committee’s recommendation to hire Mr. Dufort in this capacity.

The search process began in July after the position became vacant by the appointment of Bob Griffin to principal at WJHS. The Interview Committee then selected four outstanding candidates to interview. After a round of extensive interviews, Mr. Dufort emerged as the unanimous top choice by the Committee.

“Mr, Dufort demonstrated the exceptional skills and leadership traits sought after by the interviewing committee,” commented Superintendent Daly. “He will be an extraordinary addition to the WOCSD Administrative Team.”

For the past two years, Mr. Dufort was the Dean of Students at Noble High School. Prior to that, he was a math teacher at Noble High School for 14 years.

Dufort earned his M.S.Ed. from the University of New England and his B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Maine at Farmington. Mr. Dufort is also an alumnus of Wells High School.
