Cablecast times announced for the showing of the 2023 Literary Achievement

The Wells-Ogunquit CSD’s 37th Annual Literary Achievement Awards ceremony that took place on April 27th  was video recorded and will be shown on Spectrum Cable Channel 3 in Wells and Ogunquit on the following dates at 7 pm:  May 26th through May 28th and June 2nd through June 4th.

This year 237 kindergarten through 12th grade students entered this creative writing contest with 67 of them placing.  At this ceremony those that placed were recognized with a certificate and a monetary prize or, with honorable mentions, a gift certificate.  WHS senior Kenna Olsen placed first in her 12th grade category and received the top prize of $500.

Of note this year was that four local Roche family siblings placed in the contest.  They were Connor Roche,  2nd grade- 1st place; Maya Roche 4th Grade - 2nd Place; Robert Roche - Honorable Mention - 6th Grade; and Molly Roche - Honorable Mention - 2nd Grade.  

The Literary Achievement Awards contest was sponsored this year by the Rotary Club of Wells, the Rotary Club of Ogunquit, Las Olas Taqueria in Wells and the Wells-Ogunquit Community School District.  The contest is coordinated for the WOCSD by Pamela Lear and Alison Clark, both teachers at Wells Elementary School. 

Present at this event were Rotary Club of Wells members Scott DeFelice and Danielle Hunnewell DeFelice who is the president of the Wells Rotary.
