Wells High School senior Alison Furness was recently selected Athlete of the Month for February 2014.  This award is in recognition of Furness’ academics, sportsmanship and role as forward on the Lady Warriors Basketball Team during the 2013-2014 girls’ varsity basketball season.

Presenting Furness with a plaque on March 19th were WHS Activities Director Jack Molloy, John C. Kreie of Cole Harrison Insurance Agency and Pamela Moody-Maxon of Moody Maxon Real Estate.

This award is now sponsored by Cole Harrison Insurance Agency and Moody Maxon Real Estate. Student athletes picked to receive this honor are selected by WHS’s Activities Director Jack Molloy and WHS Principal Jim Daly.

“I was fortunate enough to watch most of the Lady Warriors games this year and Alison was definitely the leader,” commented Kreie.  “She is a very bright young lady with tons of basketball talent, she had a great career at Wells High.”

“Moody Maxon Real Estate and Cole Harrison Insurance are pleased to be partnering up to support local sports programs and to recognize student athletes for exemplary skills both on and off the court and field,” commented Pamela Moody-Maxon.

Alison Furness is the daughter of Jim and Coleen Furness of Wells.
