2014 Wells High Spring Practice and Game Plan
Track – The boys and girls outdoor track and field team will practice each day at the track from 2:15 to 4:30 (pending final approval on usage of temporary track surface). They will use the exterior of the track but will not use the interior grass field. All of the field events will use areas outside of the track to practice. Because the final work has not been completed on the track, Wells will not host home track meets this spring.
Softball – The varsity and junior varsity softball teams will practice on the varsity softball field. Junior varsity practice will run from 2:15 to 4:00. Varsity softball practice will be from 3:00 to 5:00. All jv and varsity softball teams will play their game on the varsity softball field.
Baseball – The varsity baseball team will practice on the jr. high baseball field from 4-5:45 after the jr. high completes its practice. The junior varsity baseball team will practice on the varsity infield and right field and also use the batting cage located next to the Fitness Center from 2:30 to 4:15. Both teams will play its home games at the jr high baseball field. On those days, the jr. high baseball team will use its field until 3:15 and then move over to the high school baseball diamond and the hitting cage.
Girls Lacrosse – The girls varsity and junior varsity lacrosse teams will practice at the Wells Recreation Department fields from 3 to 4:30 or 5:00. Both teams will play their games at the University of New England.
Boys Lacrosse – The boys varsity lacrosse team will practice from 4:00 to 6:00 on the Wells Elementary School field. The boys junior varsity lacrosse team will practice from 3:00 to 5:00 on the upper football practice field at the junior high complex. On days of baseball games at the jr high field, they will move to the elementary school field. Both the boys varsity and junior varsity lacrosse teams will play its home games at the University of New England.

Forbes Field Update
November 21, 2013
Dear WOCSD Staff, Students, Parents & Guardians:
Our project to renovate and rehabilitate Forbes Field, and the ongoing maintenance of Warrior Field, has progressed to a point where no further work can be done due to weather and temperature conditions. While Forbes Field (the track & soccer field) look completed, they are not. The sod has just been laid and has not taken root and the track only has a base layer.
Because of this, no one but authorized personnel will have access to the Forbes Field and Warrior Field areas until the entire facility is opened to general use. All entry gates will be locked and we have requested the Wells Police monitor the field area for unauthorized use.
It is our goal to have an exceptional athletic facility ready for our student athlete’s usage in the fall of 2014. Ensuring this goal is met requires the fields be closed until the all clear is given. If you have questions regarding the facility, please contact our Facilities Director, Dave Smith at 646-8331.
Your assistance is very much requested and very much appreciated.
Ellen H. Schneider
